Project: AIMS Surface Control Station for Reef Scan

Client: Australian Institute of Marine Science

Scope: Concept → MVP in 8 weeks

One of Cyborg’s fastest developments was the Surface Control Station design for AIMS in 2024, with requirements to initial prototype completed in 8 weeks.

Upon completion of the prototype, the system was handed over and tested in open water and further refined in the next iteration.

The scope of engineering included:

  • Component selection including monitors, batteries, switches, controls etc.

  • Processor selection based on system requirements inlcuding diagnostics and edge compute

  • Battery storage, GPS integration and compatibility with Ground Control software

  • Prehandover testing including GPS, battery life, water ingress and system setup
