Underwater Vehicle FAQs
-
Current lead time is 16 weeks for new systems depending on the sensor pack selected.
-
Various payload options and senors are available for the mission set. We also have an onboard data bus for various sensor modalities.
-
The systems has mutiple sonar options including:
Ultra-short baseline,
Doppler-Velocity logger,
Single-axis sonar,
Multi-beam sonar.
We also provide options for high-quality inertial sensors, and visual SLAM. The best option depends heavily on the end-use requirements and budget.
-
A tethered connection allows for high-bandwidth data link (~100Mbps) allowing for real-time video streaming and data logging. Without a tether, communication is restricted to acoustic modems which have severely restricted bandwidth (10bps-10kbps).
We have worked with a large number of clients and users of AUVs and ROVs, and found that a platform that could be optionally tethered allowed for greater mission flexibility.
