Project: Robotic Layout Field Printer

Client: Align Robotics

Scope: Concept → MVP

The Cyborg team developed Align robotics two primary products, Terramark and Automark from ideation to Minimum Viable Product for evaluation on construction sites, partnerships with surveying companies and further venture discussions.

Cyborg also supported with provisional patent applications and application for state and federal grant funding.

Align was developed prior to current field printers (including Dusty Robotics and Hewlett Packard’s versions) demonstrating CYborg’s ability to solve market problems with first principle engineering.

The scope of work included:

  • Mechanical chassis design and locomotion selection for use case

  • User interface design for translating DWG files to waypoints

  • Printhead design for Terramark and Automark

  • Guidance and Control State Estimation for precision drawing (±1mm local error for automark)

  • External enclosure design

  • Sensor selection and collision avoidance

Upon completion of this work package, Align Robotics was selected into a top 3 global early stage VC program with issued term sheet.
