Project: LAND 129 Surveillance UAS Phase I

Client: Jar Aerospace for the Australian Army

Scope: TRL 2→ TRL 5

Cyborg partnered with Jar Aerospace to lead the engineering team under the LAND129 concept study in 2018 for a VTOL replacement of the Aerovironment Wasp. Cyborg lead the project managing the following:

  • Key subcontractors selection and management including gimbals and GNC specialists

  • Radio selection

  • AiTR evaluation for ISR - precursor to Athena AI

  • Airframe design considerations

  • Range and Endurance calculations as well as mass budgets

  • Autopilot and ground Control considerations

  • Project documentation and end user engagement

Upon completion of this project a full Software in the Loop was tested for the transitioning flying wing, as well as a full size system for mechnical interface design.
